Hey guys,
I hope that you've all been doing well. I'm here today with a makeup tutorial based on transitioning my makeup from being summer appropriate to being autumn inspired. I hope that you can get some ideas for your own makeup look. I also included a little surprise at the end, enjoy ;).
Step 1
I started out by toning my face with the SIMPLE toner and then moisturising it with the NIVEA day cream for oily and combination skin. Once the cream absorbed, I applied my Catrice face primer to smooth out my pores and make my skin nice and smooth before appying my makeup.
Step 2
For my foundation I used the One Foundation by Makeup Revolution (Shade 3) and blended it in with the Coastal Scents flat top foundation brush. I decided to go for this foundation as it is quite lightweight on the skin hence perfect for the still warm weather, however it is also has quite good coverage so you can get flawless skin without feeling like you caked on your makeup.
Step 3
Once my foundation dried, I applied my Catrice camouflage concealer ( in 010 Ivory) with my fingers underneath my eyes and on imperfections such as post acne discolouration. I then set my base using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder ( in Translucent) with the Real Techniques face brush to ensure that it stays in place and to keep my face from going too shiny throughout the day.
Step 4
This step was quite quick. I just applied my Inglot eyeshadow base to my eyes to make sure my eyeshadows look better and stay on my eyelids for longer.
Step 5
My next stage of makeup is contouring. I applied my L'Oreal bronzer with the Coastal Scents angled brush in the hollows of my cheeks and on my jaw line to define my face. I also applied it to my hair line to give myself a slight sunkissed look and bring back a tiny summer element into my makeup.
Then I applied a dusty pink blush from Makeup Revolution ( Now!) to the apples of my cheeks with the Eco Tools Face brush. I also applied a Vivid Baked Highlighter ( in Peach Lights) from Makeup Revolution with an angled ELF brush to the tops of my cheeks to give myself a bit of a glow.
Step 6
This step requires a blog post of its own. Here I filled in my eyebrows with the Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit ( in Medium Dark) using the medium and large angled (eyeliner) brushes from Coastal Scents. I also used my Catrice nude highlighter pencil for my waterline to open up my eyes and make them look bigger and more awake.
Step 7
This step is all about my eyes for which I used my Warm Neutrals Palette from MAC. However I started out by using Foxy from the Naked 2 Palette to mattefy (how are you supposed to spell this?!) my eyelids.
Then I applied the warm brown shade ( last row on the right, colour in the middle) in my crease with the MAC 217 brush. I only applied enough to give my crease a warm shadow. Then I took a tiny bit of the shadow on my lower lid all the way to the corner to also define the eye there.
Next I applied a rich gold colour all over my lid ( second to last row, colour in the middle) with a flat eyeshadow brush from Coastal Scents.
Finally I applied a light gold colour ( second row, bottom colour) to my inner corner in order to highlight my eyes with a pointy eyeshadow brush from Coastal Scents.
Step 8
I then applied eyeliner with a flick at the end. I used the Collection pen liner in Black for this. I then applied two coats of the NYC Big Bold Mascara in Extra Black for a dramatic look.
Step 9
The last step in this makeup look, which truly transforms this into an autumn look, is applying the Rimmel lipstick from the Kate Moss Collection in 01.
Here's the finished Makeup Look!!!
But wait, what about my hair?!
Let's sort it out as well!
Step 1
I applied my Batiste dry shampoo to the roots of my hair to freshen it up and then I brushed it out.
Step 2
I sectioned off my hair at the front and put it up in a messy bun/ knot at the top of my hair which was very attractive (not).
Then I took the rest of hair into a low ponytail at the top of my neck.
Step 3
I then put a sock through the ponytail at its end and started wrapping my hair around it until it became a bun at the back of my head.
I then inserted bobby pins to make the bun stay in place. Next I took out the knot from the top of my hair, slightly teased that part of my hair and created a pouffe suing bobby pins and wrapping the end of my hair around my bun and also pinning it in.
Here's the finished look!!!
I hope that you enjoyed this post and I'll see you in my next one!!! xxx
