Barcelona president Joan Laporta asked for “patience” after the club’s difficult summer extended into a 3-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
Institutional issues related to the regulation of La Liga’s Financial Fair Play, debt of over 1 billion euros and the devastating loss of the talisman Lionel Messi have troubled the club. A sense of doom was added in this week’s European unilateral opening.
“Hi Cules, I am hurt and outraged like all of you, (but) what we are going through is one of the scenarios we have contemplated,” Laporta later said.
“I ask for patience. Patience and that you continue to support the team.
And I also ask for your trust in the leaders of the club. We need this confidence and you shouldn’t have any doubts, we will solve it.
“Thank you very much and visca Barca!”
Barça will play against Granada next Monday.
